Mechanical bonding

To improve the bed adhesion and reduce warping of the first layer, several measures are available. For example, using a brim or raft that provides additional material at the first layer. In addition, the use of a heated print bed is commonly used. A much less familiar method is mechanical bonding, which we introduced in an earlier post. Instead of using heat of additional material this method tries to create a strong enough mechanical bond between the print and the print bed.

For testing two different surfaces are used; a perforated plate & a mesh. Both surfaces created a bond, especially the mesh was successful.
