Build plate adhesion

Since PP is known for its stubbornness to attach to other materials than itself, we were expecting some struggles with build plate adhesion. Especially when printing a large and angular model the ends tend to warp heavily.

We managed to increase the build plate adhesion by applying a thin layer of PP in the form of packaging tape. This is found to be a quick and effective fix, however minor warping was still going on, especially when printing larger surfaces. Therefore, we are looking for a better and long term solution.

Most of the print bed features are focused on increasing thermal bonding by applying sheets and heating. However, this new development in printing platforms aim for a mechanical bond between the print and the platform. In this video by CEAD Group the concept is explained.
